Who we are
Our website address is: https://www.bitstobytes.org and this website serves two purposes: first a poster board for people interested in getting support to contact me and secondly a blog for the technology that I am interested in.
No comments, no cookies, no data collection. I do not track users, have analytics running or sell ad space. This site is hosted on Netilify as a static site deployed via github and is for users to view but not interact with. This lack of interaction allows visitors to visit without being tracked by myself. If you are following an external link please defer to their privacy policy surrounding your data.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
There are many tools available for removing EXIF data and you should preprocess your images if you are uncomfortable uploading the metadata of your photos.
I do not collect cookies however the website is hosted through Netilify, they may collect analytics. I do not have access to these or have any control over them so you should defer to the Netilify privacy policy if you are interested it that.
Embedded content from other
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
I like to embed Youtube, and other video platforms, please refer to either Youtube or the appropriate video platform for information about their privacy policies.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
Who we share your data with I do not use analytics, the website is hosted through Netilify and analytics they may collect analytics. I do not have access to these or have any control over them so you should defer to the Netilify privacy policy if you are interested it that.
How long we retain your data If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
